Date: February 2020-Present
Role: Marketing Director
Emory Entrepreneurship and Venture Management (EEVM) is a club at Emory University with a goal to provide a support system and community for students wishing to pursue entrepreneurship. I led the marketing division which focuses on planning and executing social media campaigns on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Tik Tok and YouTube.
Prior to joining, the club had a strong brand identity and style, but there was a need to expand and diversity the types of content. During my time overseeing the marketing division, we have now expanded to include more video content and informational carousel posts. Some examples include podcasts with local entrepreneurs, a resource guide for COVID-19 and Black Business Instagram story highlights.
One key takeaway from this experience was learning how to lead and the difference between delegating and empowering your team. I learned delegating results in a transactional relationship whereas empowering motivates your team to take their own initiative and is sustainable in the long run.

EEVM is committed to taking more tangible steps as an ally of the Black Lives Matter movement. One way is by highlighting Black Owned businesses across the US every week on our Instagram story. The photos above were posted July 19-25.

COVID-19 has had an enormous impact on small businesses and entrepreneurs. To help, EEVM has created a comprehensive guide for local entrepreneurs to stay connected to important resources and news.
I led the marketing division in modifying and adapting the guide to be part of an Instagram carousel and easily accessible to those on the platform.
